Why Venice in November: An Intimate Photographic Experience
Venice holds a special place in my heart; it's one of my favorite places in the world and an ideal location for deepening our photographic journey. From my very first visit, I was captivated by its unique charm and knew it would be the perfect setting for leading a workshop. The Venetian lagoon is visually rich, offering endless possibilities, yet it presents challenges, making it an excellent backdrop for growth and exploration in photography.
November in Venice is a photographer's hidden gem. Away from the bustling crowds, the city reveals itself in a quieter, more introspective light. This time of year, often graced with misty mornings and cooler, peaceful days, creates an atmospheric canvas perfect for long-exposure photography. The potential for fog brings an ethereal quality to the cityscapes, simplifying busy scenes into their core essence and enhancing the depth and mood of your images.
Weather-wise, expect mild conditions with temperatures typically ranging from 40°F in the early mornings to mid-50s°F during the day. This serene and less-traveled period is ideal for those seeking to explore and photograph Venice’s enchanting landscape in a contemplative and unhurried manner.
Moreover, the workshop is intentionally kept to a small group size, with a maximum of six participants. This ensures you receive ample personalized attention and guidance, fostering a close-knit environment conducive to learning and creative exploration. This intimate group setting not only enhances your learning experience but also allows for deeper connections with fellow photographers, making your journey through Venice truly special.

EASY TO MODERATE
Discover the enchanting streets of Venice, where the absence of cars enhances the city's charm. Our explorations will be on foot, averaging 10,000+ steps a day. While the terrain is relatively flat, an array of steps at the bridges punctuates our walk, requiring a comfortable level of mobility for a fully immersive photographic experience.
Carrying your camera gear, you'll navigate through the city's narrow alleys and over its quaint bridges. The vaporetto water taxis will also be a part of our adventure, requiring some agility for getting on and off. A good level of walking fitness is recommended so you can fully engage with the workshop and the beauty of Venice.
I’ve thoughtfully incorporated two half-day breaks in our schedule, allowing time to rest, recharge, and delve into personal interests. Whether it's wandering to explore, visiting museums, or focusing on image developing, these intermissions ensure a comfortable pace for all participants.

A minimum of 4 participants is required for the workshop to proceed. Full refunds will be issued if the workshop is canceled due to not meeting this requirement.
Travel and Medical Insurance: Participation in this workshop requires all attendees to obtain comprehensive travel and medical insurance. This is to ensure your safety and well-being, as well as to provide peace of mind while away from home. We recommend policies that cover trip cancellation, medical expenses, and the cost of repatriation should you need to return home due to an emergency.
World Nomads offers affordable travel insurance, and a quote only takes a few minutes. I also recommend that your camera gear is all fully insured. I use gear insurance offered to photographers through an annual membership with NANPA.

Ready to embark on this photographic journey? A 50% deposit is required to confirm your place in the Venice workshop, with the remaining balance due 3 months prior to the workshop. Should you decide to pay in full, simply select the full payment option.
Upon receiving your payment, I will send you a confirmation your spot will be set. Soon after, I will send you a detailed brief with all the pertinent workshop information. As the workshop date approaches, I will reach out to finalize our meeting arrangements and any last-minute preparations.
